A Great Reason to Join the Watson Society
The inaugural issue of The Watsonian, the journal of the fledgling John H. Watson Society, is making its way to members shortly, and it's impressive.
Contributors include Donald A. Yates, Ann Margaret Lewis, Don Libey, Hugh Ashton, and your humble servant among many others. As one of the writers, I can assure you that it was carefully edited by Joanne Yates.
The 150-page, bound publication, filled with incisive articles would be impressive by any measure, but even more so given that the society is less than a year old and has fewer than 100 members. Those numbers should grow in response to this journal, which is included with the modest two-year membership fee of $40 for U.S. members, $50 for international members.

Don Libey had a problem posting, so he asked me to submit this for him --

Thank you very much for the kind comments. I would just note that the Society is only six months old and we do, indeed, have 100 members, the one-hundredth having joined this morning. And, I would extend an invitation to all the dedicated readers of this excellent blog to submit a scholarly paper, article, or original fiction to The Watsonian for the April 2014 next issue (deadline February 15 2014). We are most inclusive and submissions can be made directly to our Publisher/Editor, Dr Joanne Yates, at publisher@johnhwatsonsociety.com
Thanks so much. With warm regards, I remain
Yours faithfully,
The John H. Watson Society
My good man Dutch: congratulations for having a piece in the very first issue of 'The Watsonian' - one day it will be like appearing in Action Comics #1. Deerstalkers off to Don Libbey, Joanne Yates, Don Yates and the rest of the founding members of the JHWS for six months of excellent work. I'm looking forward to submitting my piece on Watson's orderly Murray - without whom Watson and by extension Holmes would never have emerged out of the Victorian era - for Issue #2.
